About Us

About the Groom

Michael is originally from Patterson, CA. He enlisted in the Navy straight out of high school and was stationed in Everett, Washington on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72. Four years later Michael came back to California and began working at Costco Wholesale, where he is still employed.

About the Bride

Nicole was raised in Manteca, CA. After high school Nicole went straight into college and finally managed to graduate in 2008, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. She is currently employed at Stanislaus County, working in the Finance department of the Health Services Agency.

How We Met

Michael and I met through our best friends, Jon and Danielle Lohmann, about a week after Michael got out of the Navy. The four of us went to El Palomar for “Thirsty Thursday.” We didn’t really hit it off at first, but a month later we were inseparable!

How He Proposed!

Several months before the proposal, Michael asked me to take November 6, 2009 off from work. I was curious why, but Michael would only say that we were going somewhere for the weekend. Which was very, very weird…Michael never plans the trips, that’s “Nicole’s job.”

Finally that Friday came around and we left for Napa, where neither of us had ever visited! We stayed at the Avia Hotel (very nice!) in a suite. That evening we went on the Napa Valley Wine Train. After appetizers Michael suddenly decided he wanted to go for a walk on the train. When we were between two of the cars, watching the scenery pass, Michael suddenly said “You know I really love you,” with tears in his eyes and then dropped down on one knee, produced a beautiful ring and said the magical words, “Will You Marry Me?” I immediately started crying like a baby and of course said “Yes!”

Once back at our table a bottle of Champagne was brought over and the celebrating and call making began!

Hours later we returned back to the hotel, where Michael had my favorite flowers (calla lilies), chocolates, candles and another bottle of champagne waiting for us! The entire evening was absolutely perfect!

Michael and I are looking forward to sharing our special day with all of our family and friends!
